Description: Dr. Ashraf Hamdan emphasizes the central role of X-rays in evaluating critically ill infants in the NICU, where rapid bedside imaging is essential for assessing many conditions commonly encountered in neonatal care. He reviews key radiographic findings and demonstrates quick, clinically integrated interpretation from a neonatologist's perspective, highlighting how X-ray assessment informs daily management of sick newborns. He presents X-ray features associated with common respiratory diseases in the NICU and discusses the use of imaging to evaluate central venous access, including typical line positions and complications frequently seen with these devices. Dr. Hamdan emphasizes that accurate, efficient X-ray interpretation is a critical skill for NNPs, nurses, respiratory therapists, and neonatologists alike.
