Dr. Peter Murray completed his neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship on a biomedical ethics track at Yale University, where he studied the permissibility of unilateral decision-making. Following his clinical fellowship, Dr. Murray pursued a biomedical ethics fellowship at Harvard University while also serving as an attending neonatologist at Tufts University. He came to UVA in 2018 and worked as an ethics scholar through the Center for Health Humanities and Ethics to create an online resource for neonatal nurses to increase their biomedical ethics knowledge. He will complete his MA in Bioethics in the Summer of 2025 with a thesis focused on moral distress in neonatal nurses and neonatologists. He is co-chair of the Ethics Committee for UVA Health and an ethics consultant.
